  1. Introduction, the definition of anatomy. Different systems with viscera.
  2. Surface anatomy.
  3. Location of surface veins, artery, nerves, and lymph nodes.
  4. Preliminary knowledge about important muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilages, hoof, teeth,
    horn, body cavity, mouth, and reproductive organs.
  5. Preliminary knowledge on the anatomy of chicken and duck.

B. Elementary knowledge of animal physiology

  1. Introduction, definition, and terminology.
  2. Elementary knowledge of the function of different organs & systems in animals and birds.
  3. Ele.knowledge of the composition of blood and its functions

C. Basics of Animal Production and Management: Restraining of animals

  1. Introduction and common terms used in animal production.
  2. Factors affecting health & productivity of animals & birds
  3. General idea about the housing of animals and birds
  4. Care and management of animals and birds during transportation
  5. Principles of sanitation in Livestock
  6. Different types of fodder and grassland in livestock production, identification of common toxic plants
  7. Preliminary knowledge of the production of fodder round the year inWest Bengal
  8. Keeping of accounts.

D. Elementary knowledge of pharmacy

  1. Introduction, definitions of pharmacy, pharmacology, therapeutics, toxicology

I. Disease prevention-Elementary vet-first aid and injections through various routes

  1. Introduction definition and different terms
  2. Classification of disease
  3. General guidelines about first aid veterinary practice
  4.
